The BioSPC Doctoral School was created by the fusion of two schools, B3MI Université Paris Diderot and Gc2iD Université Paris Descartes. This merger allows BioSPC to offer PhD students (1) a broad choice of specialties covering most of the Biological Sciences, and (2) a wide choice of host laboratories for their graduate research project. The fields covered by BioSPC include : Cellular and Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology, Immunology, Infectious diseases, Genetics, Microbiology, Neurobiology, Physiology, Physiopathology, Reproduction, and Ageing.

In order to provide a simple and effective management to the PhD students, the school is divided in four independent departments:

  • Department of “Cellular and molecular Biology, Physiology, Physiopathology” (BCMPP)
  • Department of “Development, Genetics, Neurobiology, Reproduction , Ageing” (DGNRV)
  • Department of  “Immunology” (IMMUNO)
  • Department of  “Infectious diseases, Microbiology” (IM)
