“Awareness of History, Epistemology and Ethics of Science” course

This module aims to better understand the nature of scientific knowledge, to appreciate their place in our societies, and to discern ethical issues related to both the development of this knowledge and its application.

Such a training, associating philosophical reflection, historical studies and discussions on the ethical issues of scientific knowledge, has become indispensable to all those who will work tomorrow in research or, more generally, in all the professions related to it. It will enable you not only to improve your researcher’s approach but also to develop a civic conscience on these issues, and to be better prepared for dialogue with the Society.

This program is the subject of an audiovisual recording with the agreement of the speakers.

It will be distributed as part of the online training on one of the Paris Sciences & Lettres websites.
The participants are likely to appear punctually, anonymously, in groups and in distant plan. Interactions between speakers and participants can be filmed but will not be broadcast.
Registration to this module implies acceptance of these conditions.
Students who do not wish to appear in an audiovisual program, even if fortuitously, are invited not to register for this training.
