Your PSL Journey Starts With Us!

Settling in Paris when coming from abroad is not an easy task: it takes time to adjust and especially to understand the twists and turns of French administration.

That’s why PSL created the International Welcome Desk: to assist you with all the procedures and make your arrival easier so that you can focus on your thesis as soon as possible. If you have any troubles finding accommodation, opening a bank account, renewing your residence permit, or if you just feel like talking with us about your experience in Paris, we’re here for you!

Our team is composed of one PhD student (EPHE) and two Master students (ENS and the 3 PSL Engineering schools). They all have extensive international experience and they can talk with you in French, English, Spanish, Polish, Russian or German, as you like!

In addition to our regular student-facing office hours, we organise weekly meetings about specific topics such as healthcare, sports or French culture, to give you advice and make your stay in Paris amazing. We also organise cultural events: tours of Paris, exhibitions and concerts, but also getting together with other students for lunch or a drink. A good opportunity to meet new people and to improve your French or your English (or your Spanish or Mandarin!!).

IMPORTANT NOTICE : To make your life easier, the PSL Service des Thèses will be located in the same office as the International Welcome Desk, from October 2018 onwards! In the same building, you also find the PSL HR service.

Office hours :

  • from 8am to 1pm: on Monday, Wednesday & Friday
  • from 12pm to 6pm: on Tuesday & Thursday

Where? The Welcome Desk is located at The Université PSL’s main office (60 rue Mazarine, 75006). To enter the building, please press the button on the right hand side of the door, under the entry code.
