DS 406’s research covers the entire field of molecular chemistry: methods of organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, synthesis and manipulation of biomolecules, structure/reactivity of enzymes, bioorganometallic chemistry, bio-inspired complexes, organometallic complexes, functional polymetallic coordination complexes, molecular materials.

Supramolecular chemistry is an emerging cross-cutting field involving organic or poly(organo)metallic structures. The school’s wide-ranging expertise in synthesis is reinforced by the analytical approach of its teams, working in electrochemistry, biosensors, mass spectrometry and multimodal probes for medical imaging.

DS 406 includes laboratories and research teams at multiple institutions: Université Pierre et Marie Curie, the ESPCI and Chimie Paris Tech engineering schools, Muséum, CNAM, Collège de France and ENS.
