The École Doctorale Cerveau-Cognition-Comportement (The Brain-Cognition-Behaviour Doctoral School , ED3C, ED n°158), co-accredited at Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6), at Université Paris-Descartes (Paris 5), at the École Normale Supérieure (ENS) and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS)) is made of up of teams working in the fields of neurosciences and cognitive sciences from the UPMC, Paris-Descartes, Paris-Diderot, Paris-Sud, the ENS, the EHESS, the Collège de France, the ESPCI (the City of Paris Industrial Physics and Chemistry Higher Educational Institution), the Institut Pasteur, the CEA and the Institut Curie .

ED3C’s scientific policy is therefore strongly influenced by multi-disciplinary principles and links with both the humanities and mathematical modelling. This has led to the recruitment of humanities students, mathematics students and engineers from the French “grandes écoles” and to these students being assigned doctoral research contracts.
